Why is it so difficult for the developers this game to stop cheating. I am a software engineer and Senior Systems architect of 30 years with vast experience from assembler to C Sharp python Java and just about everything in between. I can solve this problem in one week. What is wrong with the development company do they not care about making a good product this should be a billion dollar franchise.

Genuine question, from someone who's nothing close to a software engineer. What would you do to fix the problem as you see it?
Definitely don't believe this guy is a software engineer of 30 years. Just calling BS on that alone.
Also curious as to what exactly they would propose as a solution.
It really depends on what you mean by cheating.
Hacking is possible but uncommon. And while it should be prevented, it is at least detected and dealt with severely.
Similarly players playing from same ip in the same game are detected and stopped.
Most examples I've heard of cheating is collaboration. If the same accounts play in the same game multiple times, they will eventually be caught and dealt with.
So why does collaboration feel so common?
Because Risk is inherently a game of cooperation. Finding a player you can work with is the best formula to winning.
I'm not dismissing all complaints of cheating but it is grossly over exaggerated imo.
People love to complain. But they never have a solution
The cheating is so out of control in this game it's pretty easy to force better identification and to not allow the same person to play multiple machines if this company actually cared they would hire an engineer like myself I have the credentials I'm on LinkedIn if they actually care about my opinion I'm a professional and I would be glad to give it but for the amount of time I played this game and the amount of absolute blatant cheating I see until something's done I'm out
The cheapest and simplest way would to make it force a webcam to be on so all four players can see each other with AI you could limit x-rated content another way would be to be completely aware of any accounts that play more than one game together which it's not right now you can create two brand new accounts and cheat like hell and it won't catch you for a dozen times
And those are like 5 Seconds Solutions for an actual longer solution it would not be that hard to program business rules especially with the advancement of neural networks and pattern recognition
They're losing so much money whoever is in charge of this game is dropping the ball they're losing so much money
I'm so done with this game I've documented so much obvious cheating. What a waste of time
I'm sorry your experience has been so marred by bad actors.
I have played 1000s of hours of games. I've seen it all. There are occasional blatant collabbers. In my experience it's not nearly as common as you are suggesting though.
Your solution of a face cam is a non starter. Adding hardware requirements to a free game is not going to help.
You can avoid playing brand new accounts by filtering your lobbies to beginner+ or intermediate+
Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.
A lot of players do stupid stuff (myself included). It's a part of the game.
Forcing Webcam? Children play this game. There's no way you thought this through thoroughly
So this guy:
Joins the server not 2 weeks ago
Complains about how a tournament is run
Makes up a story about being a software engineer/systems architect for 30 years
Claims to be able to fix cheating/collaboration in one week
2 days later suggests the most ridiculous and unviable idea probably for any game that would be riddled with moral and legal issues
Leaves the server
Wow.
- Facecam
- Process via AI
two non starters
That would've been a fun chat if they'd stayed 😄
Just hide the damn lobbies. There is zero reason to show who is in your lobby or the number of people. And stop punishing people for stupid things, like banning players for using emote they f#$&ing bought. There is a mute button for a reason. And screw banning others for "stalling".. It's why game timers exist. You need new management.
