My best guess is to remove a player from the game while also staking a claim to a larger bonus. It appears pink is playing as good neighbour to Pete in Africa and hence only purple would likely try and stop Pete. Doing that however would likely be a bad idea though, as then Pete will be aiming to team up against purple whatever

yeah pink and pete were allied
i think it’s a personal weakness of mine that i don’t recognize a kill like this but it seems like a bit of a high variance play
esp bc if i were pink and purple attacked pete i would NOT be backing pete up
i’m just a bit surprised he isn’t scared of purple popping a 10 set and then rolling HIM after
yellow and pink are locked up for at least a turn each
but i guess it wouldn’t kill pete, it would just feed the kill to yellow
