Hard to tell from the screenshots. Was it the meta settings? Both your caps are terrible. Sometimes when you kill someone, it doesn't make sense holding multiple caps. Trying to go to 1 good center cap is better than holding 2 bad caps. Looking at blacks rank and their cap choice I'm going to guess that they simply outplayed you and there was nothing you could have done different other than chaining kills early and not allowing black to have a good position in the endgame
I agree screenshots don't tell the whole story...
I didn't have a great cap choice(the one in bottom left is mine)
I went for a kill but failed as black held the kill behind a cap
I tried to go off and get a central cap but it wasnt a 100% roll so i didnt take it... Maybe i should have sticked to 1 cap as u said to have a chance atleast... Thanks for the advice
On the meta settings, if you cannot snowball hard, your cap is going to be crucial for the endgame. Especially when going up against a GM who knows how to play (card blocking, kill guarding the bot..).
What I like doing when I see one of my opponents is a good player and we are likely to go in a 1v1 where they'll have an advantage due to turn order, spawn, caps or whatever, is I try do delay the endgame. I'll try to push the noob into the good player. Let the noob hold the entire board, be passive or even show the noob you want to team up with them. I'd rather go into an endgame with a noob that has twice my troops than in an even endgame with a (Grand)Master that has a better position than me. The other opponents were all Beginners, I don't know if they killed each other too early or black got rid of them but that might have been something you could have done better..
I acutally like that a lot... I worked with black to card block orange... Maybe i could have played that differently
