I am new to Risk and I have a couple of questions:

  1. I watched a youtube video and saw a slider where you can select the amount of troops you would like to use to attack. Where can I activate it... or where can I get it if it is an add-on?
  2. When playing, it takes alot of time to attack, especially if you are attacking a lot of countries - but some players attack a lot of countires in like 5 seconds, that take me like 90+ seconds to do. Is this also an add-on or where do you activate it?

  1. It’s always active. When you go to attack it’s on the bottom right portion of the screen (right where you saw it in the video).

  2. Make sure you have camera animations turned off. It’s in the game settings. I would also turn off most of the other animations and phase confirmations as well. Then it’s just a matter of getting a good rhythm. But the for the most part the players you are referring to are playing on a PC/laptop. The Steam version of the game allows for hotkeys so you can attack by just clicking and spamming enter. Or even using macros to make it even faster/easier.

I am new to risk, why is there such a delay in registering input/not registering input when it's like under a few hundred milliseconds apart from previous input, trying to blitz through the map with a 60 second timer is so frustrating, not because I can't click enough, but because my input isn't taken in fast enough, also taken in wrong sometimes, (probably because it misses some of the fast input clicks/keyboard) I think it would be great to make is quicker to select how many troops you want when splitting too, especially hard when troop count is in the hundreds or thousands. (I know most games don't get that far but still) (I have all animations off btw) If I use macros will it be just as slow (will I have to set them to match the delay?)
