I am playing some casual games of Risk today and came across multiple players (in different games) who exited the game(s) at least 4 times and then returned to continue to play. I believe them to have been employing the dreaded fake bot out strategy. Here at their identities:
#Players Who Most Likely Employ the “Fake Bot Out” Strategy.

I encourage others to add other suspected players who employ this dreaded strategy here so that we have a thread of those people and their actions.
if you think they cheat, report em ingame. I doubt posting it here helps, especially if they are person who dont want to cheat but have connection problems or bug issues. It could be they are trying frantically to rejoin and wish to play a normal turn, but somehow it wont allow em.
I had a game one time where my internet kept coming on and off again, it does happen but yeah I think its usually on purpose
That does happen, and I’ve played against people where I know that has happened to them. There are subtle ways to distinguish the difference. Both players today, I believe were trying to use the fake bot out strategy. The timing of it, the randomness of their checking back and sometimes making attacks and others just letting the time go… seeing if I was attacking the third player in each game to see if it was advantageous for them to return… etc. of course I reported Haley… but you never know if I post here others may be alerted PRIOR to playing them and be forewarned.
I agree, the only benefit of the report is that you won’t see them (and they won’t see you) for the 30 days of the report. So if nothing else, you get a 30 day window of peace from that player. It would be wonderful if SMG allowed a system based DNP list for accounts. So if I am 100% sure someone is employing a fake bot out strategy, I could just put them on my DNP list… and it would last until I adjusted it. Or, even better, you could set the time that they would remain on your DNP list. That would be great.
