#Something needs to be done about botting

I don’t mean to sound like a complainer, but the amount of botting in games is unbelievable and quite frankly makes the game less enjoyable.

Every game I play I have somebody bot out and then their stacks end up throwing haymakers at all the players that actually stuck around to play the game.

There needs to be a punishment that is set into place for people that bot on a consistent basis. Whether it is a deduction in FFA points, or a lock on playing ranked games, or a “reputation” based system similar to what Rainbow 6 Siege has if anybody is familiar with it.

I am currently in the middle of a 4 player game where 2 players were friendly neighbor with me, the player who wasn’t friendly neighbor broke all of 1 players bonuses, and instead of sticking around, he botted. For some reason the other player who I was friendly neighbor with also botted. Now I’m left in a 1v1 with 2 bots on either side of my position and another person player. Immediately both bots of course break my bonuses and leave gigantic stacks in and around my borders.

This completely changes the style of gameplay that I now have to deal with. Before, I’m in a strategic mindset of how to negotiate with my neighbors, defend my capital, gain a position, etc. Now, I’m just trying to defend my position and am no longer enjoying the game because I’m getting mindlessly slammed by bots.

Shortly after, the other player I’m in the game with also quits even though they had massive stacks. Now i’m in a 4 player game with 3 bots. The fact that nothing is being done about this is so mind blowing. this is a strategy game. This shouldn’t be happening.

Hokaras offers a viable solution to the problem. However, I suggest that the problem of people botting out is caused by a different problem. That problem is that players can have several Risk accounts and that is actually the cause of the problem. People who are playing ranked games under alternate accounts really don’t care about their ranking and so they are fine with quitting the game and letting their bot fight it out. Having players have 1 Risk account I think would be a solution to the problem. Your suggestion of a reputation rating is also a good one.

i also make sure i start the games most times, so im sure its neutral settings, as i have the option not standard enabled/disabled in my preferences, afaik you dont know bot behavior when you join someone elses lobby until it happens, Maybe someone can enlighten me on this
