Top 10 Most played Maps of 2023

Had a look at Risk’s top 10 most played maps last year! (Excluding classic).

I’ve been playing so much Alcatraz and Mall of the Dead lately so good to see them on here!

Which map/s is your favourite to play on?

Never would have guessed some of these. The fact the pirates bay is played that much is concerning tbh. The bonuses are crazy. I personally have played a lot of Jules Verne for 1v1s this past year.

Btw. #10 has a spelling error. And it’s an image of SMG Spaceport instead of Spaceport Sigma

tbf idk any map that 1v1 would have pushed into the top 10. Theres so few games compared to FFA and most of the 1v1 games are played on classic

Although there's so few lobbies, the games are like 100x faster sometimes - so it's difficult to know for sure without a direct 1v1 -> FFA comparison on games played

Some of the players with the most games have 10s of thousands, and almost solely 1v1s

A lot of those players with the 10s of thousands are playing on Classic..at least from when I've popped in their lobbies

I think it's because they're not actually purchasable content - and that, because they've been available as free to claim (Ibailand was I think permanent free? Whereas Arkeanos was free to claim for a short time a few years ago, then again free to claim last year briefly?) that it's a sort of "exclusive" map that it drives playing on it when it's seen

I think its literally just because you can play either one of those without spending a dime. And they aren't that bad of maps. So when free to play players get tired of classic those are there only 2 options

Alcatraz caps or “alcatrash” is a favorite in the community for some reason

I think it'll be because of the "many mini Australia" bonuses

It wears off quickly when you come to terms with Australia being a bad continent to hold

My favorite is Europe Advanced (prog/fog/blizzards). Canada Advanced not too bad. Others?
