#Things I wonder About?

As I have been playing less this season, my mind has many wondering… these are some of them. I wonder how much time and energy went into SMG creating all of the new Dune Merch for us to buy? It all looks quite impressive. I wonder how many hours of SMG’s employees went into making it all.

My next wonder is… is/was it a coincidence that a post comes out a few days before the Dune Merch does asking the Risk Discord what collaboration they would want to see? I mean, was that just a luckily timed post, or was the author of the post tipped off… so to speak?

My third wondering is… if all the time and energies that were dedicated to the creation of the Dune merch, went into creating the new network… would it be done by now, hopefully making the game more stabile and less likely to be hacked?

I mean, does anyone else have these types of wonderings?

I get that these opportunities come around only so often for SMG. I get they are a business and need profits to run the business. But my wonderings persist…

The maps and cosmetics are not made by the same people that are coding the network overhaul
I feel like I repeat that every week but it's still relevant...

Maybe if our wonderful artists instead get retrained as developers, or we just no longer have artists in favour of developers only - then it'd be equivalent?
Sorry, as I said, it's a very repetitive question that comes up ("designing cosmetics over coding improvements")

The merch stuff is great, as I wrote above, I get that these opportunities only come around when they do and they need to be seized when they arise. Maybe, my wondering has shift a little Luci, now I wonder if SMG needs more programmers… (doesn’t every company need more!)

Hi there, most of the questions have been answered. But since Dune is our first big IP collaboration I was thought it would be a fun question to ask! Plus it's something I'm really curious about and personally I love the idea of game IP Cross overs, e.g. Smite/Fornite x Avatar the last Airbender. It's something that I hope we can do more of in the future.

What do u mean by new network? Sorry i am new to these terms.

I start by saying I am not an expert on these matters, that being said… as I understand it, when you play a game of Risk, most of the “game” processes take place on the devices of the players. So your computer or phone is doing the work for the game. When the upgrade will be finished, that will shift to games being played on SMG servers where their servers would be doing the game processes. I’ll let others clarify my answer, as I am sure someone other than me understands it better.
