Hi there, I am a casual player of risk, with some friends we started and adventure with risk legacy and there is a trouble popping up that seems to bother most of my friends even when playing standard risk.

In their opinion exchanging cards with another player by constantly conquering a 1 army territory and leave behind 1 army for the other player is bad manner and we should rule it out.
Would you consider this bad practice or pretty risk standard in your opinion?

They think this strategy puts other players in disadvantage and therfore force the same practice among all player. In their opinion a good solution would be to rule it out by being forced to always leave at least 2 troops.

What do you think about this strategy overall? Is it actually that powerfull towards other players? How do you take measures for it in your games?

Players tend to be familiar with fixed cards in person (so taking 1 card and passing is NOT very useful there)
whereas in Progressive it's a good option for saving troops (if you can avoid fighting others)

Keep in mind that due to Attacker's advantage, if you do this and someone doesn't like it, they can just attack your territories and on overage they'll kill 10 troops for every 8.5 troops lost - worth it 😄

So you are say that in standard risk is not a strong strategy exchanging card with another player? Why is that? Intuitvly it would seem to me that it would give you an advantage having more card no?
