Not sure why some players start their turn half way into the timed turn. What are they doing for the first 20- 30 seconds? Is this someone playing with 2 players in a game and cheating?

No. Sometimes players just like to think. Or maybe they are doing multiple things at once and don't see their turn started. I am in the middle of a game as I type this for example. There's plenty of reasons why someone may need a little time to get to get started. Cheating is actually fairly uncommon in this game and not everything is a sign someone is cheating

Hmmm, maybe they are thinking… if I wait 20-30 seconds… I wonder what my opponents THINK I am doing????

I'm much more likely to take extra time if the player before me did something very unexpected and I'm trying to figure out what they want, where they're going, how I can get out of their way, etc.

Or maybe I was lining up a kill and then someone moved their troops in my way and now I'm trying to figure out an alternate route.

Or the math is really close and I'm still trying to figure out if it's close enough to take the risk or pass.

Or I'm sending emotes to my ally but they aren't responding.

Or "oh, crap! No set on 4; how do I not die?"

Sometimes I'm not even thinking about the current turn but what the board will probably look like couple/few turns later.
For example, another player is on 1 card now but short stacked to the rest of the board. What is my path to kill when he's on 3 cards? Who else has lines to get that kill before me and how do I step in their way while not painting myself as a target, too?
