I see some customisation options in the store with timers on them, but they aren’t on sale. Are they limited time options that will go away forever when the timer runs out? If not, why are they on a timer? If you’re going to FOMO me it would help to know.

You mean packs with custom avatars? like samurai or napoleon? Noo they dont go away forever, they return after couple of days.

Yes, there's an avatar I like listed now. I was thinking of getting it anyway but I was a bit bewildered about the countdown timer.

From main menu -> click your avatar -> select avatar again -> you'll see all of the available avatars there & gem price
Customisation might highlight items that are discounted (it's mainly bundles that show up then are gone for a bit - some are seasonal like Halloween styled etc)

This was what was confusing me. The items aren't discounted, they just have timers on them. And they don't seem to be particularly seasonal. I got the avatar I liked, anyway. Seems weird that it was twice the price of a map pack but I liked it.
