Could there be some kind of minimum practice requirement for future tournaments? Perhaps as simple as participation in one practice game just to prove that you know how to join a game and are actually present on discord. Seems like a pretty simple and basic requirement and should help cut down on no shows. The more aware of and involved in the tournament a player is the less likely they are to miss their game.
Or as simple as if you don’t reply to pings verifying your tournament registration then it is cancelled, before we ever get to the first round and player after player just doesn’t show up and can’t be reached.
I’m a tournament noob… only participating in my second tournament currently and I’m through an elimination round for the first time so what do I have to complain about but after extensive practice preparing for a serious game I want to face players who are actually there and have made some attempt to be prepared. Doesn’t seem like too much to ask.
