Is it worth playing to better ones game when there so many obvious cheaters operating everyday

I have noticed recently that the majority of games have players that are blatantly working together or are ranked as beginners or novices , yet are clearly masters and above.
Is it worth playing anymore in FFA until the wrinkles are fixed. People like Pete (kill Pete Strategy) and others who are trying their best to promote the game and broaden the appeal must be pulling their hair out with the seeming lack of seriousness taken to cheating and fraudulent play.
