Hey guys im new to the game and discord so i didnt want post it in ideas because maybe it got suggested allready.
My idea would be to have a button for +60 seconds roundtime that can be used once every ~20 turns.

Just because sometimes you just need a bit of extra time for a complex move.
Sure i could join longer roundtime games but these games take hours often.

It's not a bad suggestion overall but it would definitely be abused heavily by players wanting to stall already

A better solution is granting 5 seconds for each action / attack that a player makes - it would enable 30s turn timers and it would virtually remove the speed advantage through players being able to make an attack within each +5s anyway

If you're comparing mobile to mobile or pc to pc then sure it's part of the skill gap, if you're comparing mobile to pc it's not - it's a platform specific advantage

These things are obviously up for debate and quite subjective
What is obvious too, however:
Extremely popular games like Pool Billiards, Poker and Basketball all have shot clocks as well as the option to take one or more time extensions (or time-outs)

Basketball and Poker are quite different, yet both have shot clocks for viewer and player experience

You don't get it. Obviously it needs to be designed such that it cannot be abused.
An easy way is to have 3 time bank tokens (i.e. said button can be used 3 times)
Each token is 60sec.
The standard play-time can then be reduced to eg 30sec. Making the game faster overall.

I also like (and suggested a while ago) the granting of extra seconds for each attack as stated by @lost crow
Maybe one could give this a try by adding the option to select a 30sec+3sec timing in addition to the 60sec
(A similar option exists in online chess for a long time)

I tried to post a similar idea a couple weeks ago. My thoughts are thus: punishing pc players by restricting their speed seems wrong, so their is no good way to balance for differences between mobile and pc players down that road but I want to see mine and my opponents best moves in a strategy game not the result of them running out of time mid fortify because of the difficulty of clicking on a mobile screen. An extra time button that granted extra time in ten seconds increments, that couldn’t be used till after turn 20, and could only be used by a player who was actively making moves or fortifies on the board couldn’t be abused to stall. Additionally I’d suggest that the time be granted like a chess clock if you finish your early turns quickly then you have the time you didn’t use available to add to later active turns in ten second increments. This would both motivate quick play with less time wasting in the early game and allow for better matched play between PC and mobile players in the late game.

I actually really like the idea of the time extending over each attack but since progressive games tend to be a lot quicker than fixed I think having that extra time coming into round 8 would be better than 20 bc from my experience most progressive games are over far before then. at least for progressive, fixed and prog are pretty different game modes so I feel like something like that would have to change between modes

Good point. Either a different start turn for time bonus in progressive or fixed or maybe just start it at somewhere in the range of turn 6-8 in all modes (most of the time wasters and over attackers have lost interest and quit by then anyway). Progressive players on mobile could start using the extra time button on that turn and while fixed players could too they would be motivated to not use it and to continue to “bank” the turn time that they don’t use.

Time bank is actually a better term than chess clock, which I guess was misleading. (There are many different ways of timing chess after all). Anyway the time bank I was picturing would be a turn time plus system so you would have say 60 second per turn no matter what (if you selected 60 second turn mode) but you would have access to any time banked by ending turns early (plus maybe 30 seconds of automatic extra time). So once the extra time button became available a mobile player actively making moves could tap that button to extend their turn in 10 second (or maybe 5) increments as long as they where still actively making moves. I’d imagine that this feature would be used on between 2-4 turns by a mobile player and would go a long way to alleviate the time disadvantage. While not perfectly balancing pc and mobile play I think it would be an easy and fair fix. Would you rather be able to play as fast as you can on a pc while facing mobile players who are motivated to end their turns as quickly as possible except for one or two turns that might last 10-30 seconds longer… or wait for mobile players to demand time restrictions on pc players or a mobile only game mode. Either of those moves would partition the community and really suck. Let’s not let the perfect get in the way of the good here. Perfect time balance is not going to be possible anyway.

but you should have that you can do it once add 1 min extra, sometime you have to open door or something and take elevator down...the computer always screw up your cap if leaving (leaving 1 troup in your cap and do horrible attacks losing 90 % of your stack)
