It covers what an IP Address actually translates to, what it's used for, and what it may tell you about an individual.
Generally speaking you may get a nearby city in a country (for me it shows up as a city just over 100 miles away, so it's pretty vague)
What the IP range you're connecting from can tell you is the provider that a person is using (which internet service provider), and in terms of games it can indicate association to other players where there is overlap in IP.

Also note that IP is shared with every website that you visit, and app you use.
The site gets to know that a, lets say Verizon, service has a customer visiting the page, and where that service provider is based.
