#Ranking System is Ridiculous

not gonna pretend like I know how the point system works, but I imagine it takes the ranks of your opponents into account. so if you play against beginners who are at 100k or something and you are at 30k, your rank wont increase much. on the other hand if you lose to a 100k you will lose lots of points and they will gain lots of points. so maybe making sure that only expert+ can enter your lobby would help
I played several GMs and quite a few masters/experts across those six games
I don’t disagree with you that the rank system is rediculius (titles based on ELO, rank based on skill points). I think the reason why you don’t see rank progress is that the rungs of the ladder are spread out much more.
~2.6M skill points to GM
~ 4M skill points to top 1000
~ 7M skill points to top 10
Yeah but it's weird cause I can move up to 25k no problem, but the SECOND I hit that it borders on impossible to get past
It gets much worse as you move up the ranks. It can easily take 20+ consecutive wins to recover from a single loss. I say drop the loss penalty all together. It only upsets people and discourages honest gameplay. Newer players don’t like their rank dropping by getting beat by a high-skill player. High-skill players don’t like the enormous rank drop that comes from a low-level player getting extremely lucky. In my view, the loss penalty is what drives alternate “smurf accounts” and “noob farming”.
I think rank loss is very important in any ranked competitive game, but no rank loss should ever be this severe, take valorant for example, when you lose a game you lose roughly the same amount as you would gain when you win a game, but you lose slightly more, like 10-20%, I got to 25k rank and to move up to 20k I will literally have to win 10s of times in a row without a single loss, in what world is this balanced, especially in a game which relies so heavily on luck and praying to not get bombarded by suiciding noobs
Yep. Just wait until you move up the rank ladder a bit more and it takes 15-30 wins to earn back a single loss. That is why top players use alternate accounts.
Played for about an hour today and won all of them but only moved up five ranks but I moved down about 30 from one loss. Then again that is expected at the higher ranks. None the less, it is broken and everyone knows that so hopefully they fix it soon 🙏
You can easily base rank on the number/quality of wins that a person has. Adding a loss penalty frustrates players, reduces play time, increases alternate accounts, and encourages stronger players to seek out weaker ones. That is a lot of negatives for something that is unnecessary.
Tbh I think it's ur game that's bugged. When I lost a game at 1250 rank I dropped to 1650. Wasn't that drastic. About 5 wins to compensate.
Yeah but the difference is that high up there is a drastic gap in skill points between players which determines rank, back here at 25k it's a lot more condensed
No idts. I'm not yet at that level. At 1k+ yes.
For the second time I have ran into a player with the ability to award himself/herself large numbers of extra troops, making it impossible for anyone else to win. I have no idea how this hack works, but both times it has set my rank back around 20 games. Very frustrating. I did report it. Hopefully the player will get banned.
Hopefully. If you want u can submit a ticket on top of that.
The next update is scheduled to include ranking updates based on community feedback. Just a question of when it arrives
Don't we all want to know when
Spooky season correct
The ranking system is so dumb
Wow hot take
I lose so many ranks when I’m a master when I lose but I gain so little when I win.
