Cannot drive from dirt to grass

I am trying to drive the Pathfinder from the dirt to the grass in multiple locations that appear to be around hills or some slight elevation changes. By the map, it looks like I should be able to drive from the dirt right on to the grass, but instead, I am not able to and the auto-destination process takes me way around the map. This does not seem realistic, especially given the pathfinder's wheel setup.

Vehicles are not intended to be passing through the dirt of the hill. It's like an end-point where you can construct your building to begin settling in.
Imagine anno, where your ship gets on shore/in land. It shouldn't.

I understand the way they were going however we should be able to drive onto the grassy area as it doesn't make sense that we can't
