If you want to reduce the cost of weapons, armor, and healing items, I recommend using the same strategy you use for clearing the Cultist Camp. Equip stealth armor to sneak your way to the boss room, then switch to the Klondike and Huot to take down only the boss while ignoring the other bandits. This approach lets you get the job done with just one strong set of armor, one powerful gun, and minimal healing supplies.

I’ve been using this strategy ever since it was released, though the downside is that you earn less EXP since you’re only taking out the boss 😅.
