After having a stable of 5 boys at one stage I tried again.
It's gone backwards: I've got worse level horses now.
Maybe the devs could tweak the algorithm a tad? Otherwise horse breeding for improvement looks to be a waste of time, money, feed & silver. Just my opinion 😃

A sound alternative to stepbacks with breeding would be in game shop where you can buy loads of high tier horses, which at first glance might not seem as a spot-on alternative, but would save you a ton of waiting (for it to be born an mature) and disapointments of not advancing tier. Plus you would help devs earn a little bit to be able to maintain and improve this great and flawless game.

I gave up grade up through breeding after I ran out of room 5 horse slot not enough to breed from common grade especially when I keep getting only one gender foals in rng

Yeah.. 5 slots isn't enough. 8 is good. I've plenty of feed. I'll look at buying a couple of 100 silver starting horses & breed them to get the points. Almost got enough points for the T4 Rare & I'll just buy one or two with coins. That's where I'll stop.
