It seems that his drift is gaining nitro bit by bit that he partially discharges nitro but not drain it all the way. Then he drifts again where he could fill it up again until it becomes easily full
Best way to test this is if both of u have same car diff rank (assuming your rank is higher) then u start a race in a straight path. Side by side without discharging any nitro

if you can easily go up in gold, you can even lose intentionally some races down to 9k-11k fast by abandoning and then get more points by taking first places up to 4-5k. Rinse and repeat

Im being taken out every race by players who are blinking red. The game seems to guess where they should be. The issue is that you end up with slower cars behaving like faster ones. Worse still they behave like the AI and push you off ramps at the wrong time. It really is terrible at the moment.

@marsh nest i have played a lot today and something is off. Other players are behaving like the ai. I had around 4 players all bash into me at the same time. There players on one side of the road who magically swerve to my side for no reason.
