The scoring method used by Gameloft in the shorter seasons of MP is based on braindead logic. You basically have to win each and every race to climb through the ratings, as finishing 2nd or worse loses points, or allocates a few points not worth collecting in the very small fields, because very few want to play this nonsence. How is this car finishing 2nd losing 2 points, fair? The car finishing 1st was 719 ratings more than 2nd. How the hang in THAT fair? GL has set out on a mission to frustrate is players, and it's being incredibly sucessful.

@molten pulsar Player ratings are taken into account when it comes to matching players or earning/losing points in a race. The cars players have, are responsible by the players.
