Couple weeks ago my broom for outside broke so I went and bought a new one which came with a dust pan which I really didn't need but whatever. Just a few minutes ago while using it outside I noticed a weird notch out of the side with spikes, have never seen this on a dust pan before. Is this for cleaning the broom?..one would have to hold both in separate hands at same time, seems weird. Can anyone tell me exactly what the notch with spikes is for?
