At a certain point we have attained so much gold that it’s basically worthless as there’s nothing that would put a sizeable dent into our supply (see attached image) so maybe we could trade the gold in for other resources or maybe even XP and or SP

One of my ideas which I shared and most likely wrong thread was having the permits office unlimited. As long as you had the gold you can get more population. The upgrade would continually get more expensive. You could also buy more population with nanopods. The two ways would be independent so you could have a gold cost of a trillion but the same pop upgrade would cost you 10 nanos.

When and if guild projects come those will probably have some particularly sizable gold requirements.
