#Remove the “Ancient Weapons and Hokey Religions” mission

This mission requires you to spend 60 nanopods on a building, the Weapons Factory, which unlocks three premium nanopod units, then spend an additional 30 nanopods to train the only one of the three units that has somewhat acceptable performance, the Bazooka Squad.

The Weapons Factory will also use 3 of your population for eternity unless you can bring yourself to delete a building that costed nanos.

I saw that Madrona removed that other nonsense mission to build a Bunkhouse for 75 nanos, which I thought was great, but I think this one should get the axe too. Furthermore missions should never require nanopods to complete. As a hardmode player (F2P), if not removed, this will clog up my missions menu for the rest of the time I play this game.

Unless they reimburse the nanopods we use for quests as a reward for completing them or what not it’s a shame.

I never did that mission 10 years ago and I'm not going to do it now. It just takes up space in my mission list!

Remove the “Ancient Weapons and Hokey Religions” mission

That or just make that building and those units non-nano. They're not good enough to warrant spending premium currency on in the first place.

I mean, the AT rocket team does completely invalidate the gun truck.

#

Which I feel could use some love.

the gun truck is mediocre anyway, not much of a comparison

They need to make the garbage nano units great again

Couple ways to skin this cat:
1.Keep it the way it is and don't change anything

  1. Bring down the nano cost of flame trooper, bazooka, RPG trooper, and heavy gunner tremendously (like 5 nanos per troop to train) since it already costs 60 nanos to build

  2. Keep it the way it is, but buff all 4 of those troopers and tweak down the nano costs.

So many options

3 is probably the best way to do it

All those units need a buff

I actually really like this idea. That way you still technically have to use your premium currency or pay real $$ for the nanos. Which is a difficult price to swallow for lots of these buildings for various reasons. But if you get refunded the entire amount of nanos, or even just half the amount, it still feels like you get something back and it keeps the mission in the game which lets face it, removing missions entirely isn't exactly fun.

#

Or honestly we could just make all the premium buildings that have missions for them no longer cost nanopods. There are already a lot of discussion around how bad the Weapons Factory is because of its nano cost, its units costing nanos and all being mediocre. Same with the bunkhouse, it's a cool looking building with 8 pop at the early levels but locked behind the nano paywall. By making them regular buildings it will automatically make the missions worth completing, while opening up some more buildings for the early and mid game.

#

An 8 pop F2P house would be really nice for players that prefer that as well. Especially since the only other 8 pop non nano house is the Duplex. Maybe nerf its tax rate so as to not render hovels/scrap houses obsolete?

If the mission gets removed can the people that already completed it be reimbursed?

^ one of my concerns too

#

I dont think they ahve a way of tracking who has done what missions though.

dreamy ridge
#

If you got refunded it would serve as a trial of the nanopod buildings, and it would be harmless. The Z2 formula around them is ridiculous. Alternatively just reimburse everyone the possible cost of it wholesale since I can't imagine specificusers having completed the quest is tracked.

aye that could owrk

If the goal is to incentive people into getting it, I think the best way to do it is to buff up the units. Otherwise you are stuck with a building that costs population that does nothing and will feel bad to remove.

Also itd be interesting seeing the heavy gunner and bazooka troop actually do something. Giving Heavy Gunner more damage, and Bazooka Troop more accuracy could make it useful in some specific comps that people might be willing to shell out the nanos for. Problem would be they'd have to be somewhat competitive to the tf2 units which would be a problem.

i'm in the middle of completing this mission just for the heck of it but yeah, it's GOT to go

i think the building should be f2p for sure

unique ridge

either that or the units

jade jolt
#

probably not both but definitely at least one of the two

unique ridge
#

.... it'd be nice if we could mass produce them

#

60 nanopods for 1 time building and then ability to mass produce anti-tank teams and stuff is a dream

#

.... but that's also not how you sell premium stuff....

#

then again 20 nanpods for heavy gunner is bad

An additional perk of the weapons factory like being able to queue up units in the barracks would be cool too

dreamy ridge
#

Avoid locking thing such as "Additional queue's" behind nanopod only buildings or options. This is not good for anyone. Though, barracks queue's should definitely be improved...

pale dew
#

Honestly those buildings in general need to be reworked to some extent

#

There's little point to keeping them around once you build the number of units you want

do you mean decreased?

Then get reimbursed that way

they're also the posterboy for the game

#

give my dude a buff please qwq

hushed ermine

like even giving it the straight vertical line attack that the firedrake has would work. also a damage increase since you could buff its attack to have no cooldown between attacks and it would still suck since its damage is terrible

mmm yeahh but is that easily checkable on their side?

hushed ermine
# unique ridge mmm yeahh but is that easily checkable on their side?

probably tbh because they could probably use the same way they use to check when adding missions to previous levels after an update. For example the infected faction quest set that will be eventually readded to the game. That quest requires the game to check both a level requirement and a quest completion requirement

pale dew
#

Considering there is a quest like the yenkcha chain that happen at least 50 levels

#

They probably have a way to keep track of missions done

I agree with this post. For an alternative idea. add nanopods as the reward for this so that it makes up for the amount we spent for this mission.
