#Transferring a 1.5 TB file.

I have a 1.5 TB file that I am trying to transfer from my Shadow PC, to my actual PC. What would be the best and fastest way to do this?

I have been trying to use Google Drive, but even though I bought the 2TB allotment, it only shows 500GB available for the Drive in the app, though it shows 2 TB online, but it's terribly slow .

I tried using the USB passthrough, but that is pretty slow as well, showing it will take days to complete, and with Shadow timing out after 30 minutes, so ideal.

I tried Resilio, but doing a test, it took about an hour to transfer half a GB.

Which of these venues, would be best, do you know a better idea? Maybe I just need to optimize something to make it better. What do you think?

the idle timer is my concern even at max transfer speed

#

fastest I've managed is over SMB or SSHFS

What do these magical letters mean?

SMB is just built into Windows. You can use Tailscale to facilitate the networking, and mount a local folder or drive to Shadow.

Any idea how I can make the USB Passthrough faster. I feel like that would probably be the fastest way. But I am getting copy speeds of like 4MB/s, even though the upload speed for Shadow is 100 MBs and the USB is connected through USB C, and the drive is USB 3.2

USB over IP just isn't meant for high speed data transfer reliably.

#

tons of overhead compared to something like smb that was designed to move files over a network

I'll try SMB, pretty easy to set up?

yeah and it's been around for so long there's tons of tutorials.

#

main thing is tailscale and tailscale IP addresses.

#

which that's just point and click too. just have to approve your local device and Shadow in the tailscale admin panel

I'll check it out!

Am I showed to use a mouse jiggler to keep shadow from timing it while transferring the files?

That will get you banned. Do not circumvent the idle timer.

Even at the fasted possible upload speed (12.5MB/s) it would take you total of 33 hours 20 mins to transfer that amount of data.

So yeah it's going to take some time.

if you can split it into chunks, would probably save your sanity.
