#copy paste clipboard weirdness and upgrade notice that seems not to work

In Shadow PC if i control-c copy and control-v paste it often blocks and 'keeps pasting' the same text repeatedly until it hits some limit (like 30,000 characters). I don't notice any issues outside of Shadow PC, so I'm confident that it isn't a keyboard/hardware issue. Also if i Copy-C in Shadow PC and paste (locally, not in Shadow PC) into notepad or something, then re-copy the text and paste in Shadow PC there has not been an issue. Anyone else having this happen? Also when I log into my account, at the top of the page, there is an offer about an upgrade but when I click it I get three red error boxes saying there are no feature upgrades. TIA

For the account stuff you will need to contact Shadow Support.

As for the copy/paste issue that's weird so If I get this right, if you copy from local to Shadow it will repeat the paste function over and over... But if you copy something from Shadow to Local then back to Shadow it's fine?

#

It's the second part that confuses me, like the first part can be down to the nature of UDP and then TCP should solve it.. But the fact you say that if you paste text that had been copied to Local back into Shadow it doesn't do it I'm stumped.

sticky keys, ctrl and v keys lost the release state, I'm guessing if right click and paste it just works

#

and most likely if pressing ctrl and v keys again, it stop pasting

#

in TCP mode it should be more reliable. (as far as I know only native gamepad mode remains in UDP), but if it happens also in TCP it could be a latency issue/network stale and some keypress state may be lost/discarded by streamer

#

could be a bug too, but need to be very precise on how you proceed and give a lot more details as described here : https://discord.com/channels/460948857304383488/1210660461457051758 and exactly how you do it (ex: "Shadow is windowed/fullscreen, mouse locked/unlocked in shadow, the string content pasted is : "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit." using cmd+c on local MacOS, alt+tab on shadow and ctrl+v in notepad application)

oh maybe sticky keys is set.. they are very sticky it seems. i will investigate

#

it seemed to start happening about a month ago. i was trying to decide if it was a hardware problem before contacting support.. but i will look for sticky keys and unstick that option

#

i'm not even sure who would want that many repeats 🙂

nobody indeed, sticky key in the conext of shadow is a bit different as events are transmited over network (anything can happens), there's 2 events when using keyboard : key_press and key_release, if key_releases are lost you end up with ctrl+v stuck in a key_press state, when you switch to local desktop and go back to shadow, shadow automatically flushes all key states, freeing your stuck keys until it happens again

#

so next step would be to give details about your network, if you are using powerline/wifi/wifi meshed network.... your connection type (wireless networks in general 5G/Starlink/...) could give some informations, and if user wired network at router level, make sure to use ethernet directly from your local device to your router...

#

wireless in general being the less reliable way of using shadow, 5G could be even worse depending of [cell tower usage/congestion state]/mobile data provider...
