Thank you for your response, I reattempted the display safe mode, but to no avail. And the web browser works but there's input lag and shuttering. Connected to ethernet and my connection is fine. If you have any more advice it would be most appreciated.
Edit: browser version is working fine
Edit 2: repeatedly crashing

What you can do, it to shutdown your VM, wait 20 minutes and try again. To see if the new session will perform better.
If not, then you open a support ticket. Send them the logs, as well.
