Can you set the resolution via the Quick Menu ?

#

What is the purpose for needing a custom resolution?

tight nacelle
#

wait i can do that?!

#

how do i access there in that screenshot

#

how do i fix the black borders?

twilit moat

It's the Shadow Quick menu > Video tab, untick match display > Display settings.

Well the question is, what resolution is your Display? What resolution are you trying to Set the Shadow to?

i set it to 2560 by 1080

#

but there are two black borders top and bottom how do i fix that

twilit moat
#

Well if your main display isn't 2560x1080 there will be.

#

whats scaling do

twilit moat
#

That's a 21:9 resolution and I assume your display is 16:9?

tight nacelle
#

ya

#

but whats scaling do

twilit moat
#

It's zoom

#

But why are you setting it to 21:9 ?

tight nacelle
#

so i can see game worlds more better

twilit moat
#

Well unless you have a 21:9 display you'll have bars top and bottom. Just how it is.

#

Just like 16:9 resoltutions on 21:9 display has bars on the sides.

#

Not sure if there's a way to "Stretch to fill" but that would just look awful. Better to just use native aspect ratio.

tight nacelle
#

scaling doesnt even work

twilit moat
#

Well yeah it won't

tight nacelle
#

what other res would work on a 16:9 besides native

twilit moat
#

Using anything but native can cause issues.

#

There's not really any point in changing it..

#

If you want a higher resolution, get a new monitor that your device supports.

tight nacelle
#

trying to change back to normal res it wont let me

twilit moat
#

Just retick match

#

But also if you have a game open it won't change.

2560 x 1440 works bc it was made for 16:9

twilit moat
#

Yes 2560x1440 is the next display res up from 1920x1080.

#

But if you've got 1920x1080, you're not really gaining anything, other than using more of the Shadow GPU ofc.

#

Not that you've confirmed your display is 1920x1080, I'm just guessing 😄
