No. You can't default route your VM back to your own Internet. That would break Shadow services.

Do you know why you're lagging? Done any diagnostics? If you're using Virtual Desktop, what does the performance overlay say?

That's correct. Your Shadow is in a rack with a bunch of other servers. There's no direct route between you and your VM. Not on same local network doesn't mean anything if you can still connect. Virtual Desktop has a performance overlay that you can turn on and see a breakdown of latency.

Do send a screenshot of the perf overlay and we can try to narrow it down
