I want to use my vpn but I don't know where should I connect. is it my mac/original OS or should I connect on shadow desktop?

you can connect a vpn but it's highly advised against, since it will throttle your connection by a lot from the shadow datacenter to your pc and so anything you connect to via internet.
on second hand, you'd need to whitelist the critical processes that shadow uses to give you a near zero latency remote access from within the app.
