Hello community. I have been a user of Shadow prior and have been very happy with the service and the performance. My query lies with the startup mechanism that appears to be buggy, both in the process but also in appearance - differing from the normal loading appearance. I am able to login to the website and the client, but am greeted with a never-ending screen that looks like the attached image. I'm just tryin to connect to play some steam games with some friends.

Does the issue happen when you use Shadow on other devices?

I cannot confirm. However, I have been using my Mac Mini (8GB ram, 512GB SSD) for over 2 years and never had an issue previously using Shadow. In addition, I've even gone so far as to purchase a separate instance and try a fresh install when I was unable to reset (a completely separate issue).

Is the issue present on different networks and/or connection types? (Ethernet, 5GHz, Wifi, etc.)

Yes. I believe this is related either to the Shadow instance or my machine, but am wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. I wonder if the antivirus I installed on the machine may have caused complications (ESET Premium). Though Ive been making sure to "Update and Shutdown" rather than "Update and Restart" in order to ensure that I dont have to force quit the process.

If it's an issue with a game or app, does the issue happen with other software?

Interestingly, I've attempted to boot my dedicated PC that I use for VR (I know, kind of silly that I'm using Shadow for gaming on a Mac if I have a dedicated VR rig), but I'm just trying any option to get online. As of currently the PC is suffering from the same issues.

Your Data center, available in the Help section of the launcher

This is what is weird to me... that's BLANK. However, using IP tracing and packet inspection, I can determine it's in Dallas. I have some advanced network knowledge that leads me to believe this is not a provider issue.

The country you're connecting to Shadow from

California, United States, West Coast (GMT-8)

Your ISP

AT&T Fiber

Connection Type

I've tried 2.4GHz Wifi, 5GHz Wifi, Ethernet (CAT 6), remote hotspot/tethering (wifi) and Bluetooth tethering even.

Operating System and device model

Mac Mini, 2020; Apple M1. 16GB RAM. Version 14.6.1 Sonoma. Internet is 1 GBps wired, 150-300MBps wireless.

But if this isn't a provider issue, that means someone has easily gotten past the BLADE firewall TWICE and has gotten into my rigs. Whomever is really determined to disrupt whatever I'm doing. I mean, I'm just playing steam games. I really do not get it.

I cannot upgrade.

The "Datacenter" section is blank

and I cannot reset my Shadow PC's

#

Even the "Configuration" page that allows me to swap out storage doesn't work.

this is starting to feel hopeless

Thanks for the detailed info, I'll try and answer what I know.

"I wonder if the antivirus I installed on the machine may have caused complications (ESET Premium)." - Yes 3rd party anti-virus software can mess with the Shadow software components.

The change of plans not showing is something support would need to look at.

On the Shadow App help section does it mention the datacentre there or is that also blank?

As for the logs code, only Shadow Support can do anything with those - #support-ticket

I tried on a fresh installation. with only windows updates installed. Everything seemed to work alright, but it still doesn't explain the mishaps on my mac's end. Still, that's for another discussion. I wonder if someone is breaching my mac and that is how theyre gaining access to my window's instances, rather than going through BLADE.

Yes the data center section is blank, I inspected the HTML source and it's as if someone had altered the incoming steam of traffic and removed that specific line of data. From watching my IP traffic in a program called Little Snitch (on mac) I'm able to see some of the connections (related to teh service) being routed to Dallas. But I also notice that many of the bizarre connections I've been attempting to track down are also coming from that same area.
