I got the extra storage what does it do because i tried to download something and it said not enough space

Maybe your partition C is full and you now have a partition D. Downloads mostly go to partition C. So maybe you could change the download folder to partition D then it should work

I'm not on PC right now. But maybe:
Go to Settings > System > Storage > Change where new content is saved. There you should be able to switch from C to D
