#Extreme Latency

Background
I recently purchased the boost tier of the shadow for gaming. However, when I try to play games like Helldivers I get extreme input latency where the input takes multiple seconds just to register. The resolution and experience is overall far worse than MaximumSettings which I had to do very little to get working.

I've tried...

  • Enabling USB IP
  • Switching to TCP
  • Reducing Resolution
  • Reducing Frame Rate

Specs

  • Datacenter: USWDC01
  • Connection: Ethernet
  • Macbook Pro M1: Version 14.1 (23B74)
  • ISP: Honest Networks, LLC

you have best mac device, and a great latency, can you post ingame screenshot with fps counter and shadow overlay (open quickmenu, press cmd+option+o, close quickmenu) ? if it's helldivers 2, boost package may be also a bit low for it

#

also you can try shadow alpha version to see if that improves experience

I don't think its lag the game feels responsive just extremely delayed. I'll try to take an ingame screenshot.

#

Where do I download the alpha version?

@red merlin
Access the alpha apps (and receive community support) in our #🅰┃alpha Discord channel.
Note You will need to get the appropriate (Alpha) role from #🔍┃roles to see the channel for Alpha..

Please note that there is no official support provided for alpha versions. The only source of community support for alpha is the #🅰┃alpha channel.

well then, Power tier may be better for it

Ok we found the issue.

#

Steam synced my graphics settings from MaximumSettings and they were far too high for this tier

perfect, I've not test HD2 yet, just passing feedback from other users, feel free to tell if it's perfectly playable on this tier then with lower settings

You need to drop mostly everything to the lowest setting as possible but it is playable.

Looks good on a macbook monitor

#

About 42 fps

I'm not sure why but I wasn't seeing below 30 FPS when I was experiencing the extremely laggy experience but changing the settings helped x10-20
