Does how far you are from your VM affect the latency of any other clients that join it such as through Parsec? I'm in western NA and a friend is east NA. I had bought a Shadow Power NY for both of us but when both of us hosted parsec, players who joined my parsec on VM had much higher ping than they did in my friend's parsec. Same amount of clients and bandwidth. Does how far you are from the VM throttle the speed of clients or did I just get an unlucky VM?
#Shadow VM distance from Host affect extra client speeds?

Are you absolutely sure your Shadow is located in the same? For you to have got a Shadow in Washington DC and not Portland, where if you're in the West would be where it would put you with your information, unless of course you falsified this lol... You can check Shadow location via the help section of the launcher.
Yep I'm absolutely positive. I input the same zipcodes both of which were in New York and confirmed it when speedtests were ran. I get VMs located there to run tourneys since most folk who play are east USA.
Okay well no clue then, only latency increases will be to the shadow itself for you.
actually i did leave out one thing but I'm not too sure if it affects it that much
but recently since shadow had a huge ui update
I've had to run NY shadow in Safe Mode while my friend didn't have to but that shouldn't affect latency for others right?
It’ll be running in a sort of degraded mode yes, mostly GPU driver related, so could be encoding latency. Not sure what else changes in display safe mode, but it’s only meant to be used to resolve issues and then be rebooted and run normally. So best to get to bottom of why need to run in display safe mode.
it was that update that caused a lot of people to have the L-104 error. and the only way to get in esp for long distance was safe mode
do you know if thats still kind of happening?
its been a minute since i used my shadow
