#Latency Issues

I’ve recently come back to shadow after a few months away. I’ve got the power upgrade. When I last used the service, it was perfect, I never had any latency. But now it is absolutely awful, the picture looks great but the audio stuttering and latency ruins it completely.

I’m in the UK, get speeds up to 145Mbps on my WiFi. I’ve tried my windows laptop, and Apple TV. Both have the latency issues. It fluctuates from 27-40s.

It is funny cause the shadow speed test said my latency would be perfect 😂

Mine did the same vidoe keeps freezing up every couple mins no matter how many times i restart streamin

This is the best way to play games on a cloud PC monthly without getting an actual one. Shame there’s no competitors as maybe they’d then try to improve the connection issues

Yea bouta cancel this shii i only use it wen i travel anyway gotta actual gaming desktop but if i can hardly play without visual freezing And having to restart streaming every couple minutes then at that point its not worth it sorry just not worth 60+$

Like the game starts literally latency spiking soon as i start into the main menu like 500-600ms but shadow speed test says my speed is good

Where abouts are you located, state/country wise?

Im in united states louisiana rn

Okay, cause you have Power, you'll be likely connecting to Washington DC, as Dallas doesn't have Power. This doesn't explain 500-600ms though.. That's 5-6x more than I get from UK to US lol. Does it get better if you lower the bitrate?

tepid marsh
#

Sumtimes so the auto bitrate said i cud run 50ms but i lowered it to 40 and then 30 it worked slightly but video still freezes and game continues to play

#

Yea they got me connecting to Washington Dc

This will help you understand where the latency increase occurs.

I'm not very good at analysing it, but if you post the results here (blanking out your Local IP) someone should be able to assist.

PingPlotter is an application by PingMan Tools for troubleshooting network issues and easily visualizing latency and packet loss issues.

Ok thanks bro

you mut have at least ~10 hops.
On your local computer, target = your Shadow IP
On your Shadow, target = your local IP

follow exactly steps by steps the guide

tepid marsh
#

Ngl not sure how to do this so do i test my regular pc with pingtest and then do shadow ping test too or like whaa

normal venture
#

you need to do both tests
Run pingplotter on your Shadow, the target must be your local IP
Run pingplotter on your local computer, the target must be your Shadow IP

Target is where you enter the IP in the software

Ok gotcha give me few mins

This my shadow pc ip bein tested on my local pc

Ngl many of my friends using shadow on fiveM and theirs not doing the freezing up of the video if i cant get it fixed im definitely not gon keep payin for the subscription krazy thing is they got boost and i got power package theirs running smooth

The Shadow Plan itself makes no difference to quality of the stream... Just the game performance Shadow side.

I can't read any of those pics but nothing shows 500-600ms.

The only difference is that if they're also in the same state as you, their Shadow is closer than yours is, due to yours being in Washington DC - Which could of course add in loads of routing issues.

Have you had Shadow Boost previously, or did you go straight to Power?

Also could we see the Shadow quick Menu stats filtered to 10 mins after playing- Making sure to show bandwidth, latency and packet loss.

tepid marsh
#

Yea i gotcha and i had boost first and then i changed to power cause i figured da specs wud make it better but ig not

sharp forge
#

First I would restart router to see if that helps at all. Sometimes it does. Other than that, I'm all out of ideas, at worst your latency should be like maybe 45-50ms

tepid marsh
#

Exactly and i restart it and it works for day or so then i gotta do the process all over again

#

I do appreciate your time and help though

sharp forge
#

Restarting your router helps then it gets bad again?

tepid marsh
#

Yea after like a day or so

sharp forge
#

I would contact your ISP as well then could be a fault.

Ok
