#Shadow is so laggy?

Paying 50 quid a month for a laggy service
Thanks for the picture! Your connection results say that there's 93ms between your ISP and Shadow. That's really high.
Do you know where your Shadow is located? Which data center?
You're welcome ❤️ If you're not sure, let me know your zip code, that will give me a rough idea!
Why does mine say it is in Birmingham uk?
I thought there was not any centres in the uk
That's where your IP address is located, Shadow has leased an IP for you so you do not appear to be in France.

oh right
That way websites etc work the way you expect.
Cheers love

Don't worry, I got your message, I'm looking it up now 🙂
Thank you
Can you run this test and post the screenshot here? https://speedtest.frdun02.shadow.tech/
I believe this is your data center, but I'm not 100%. Just an estimate!
Please run this on your local device, not in Shadow. Sorry for not clarifying that 🙂
Ahh all good ahah
Thank you so much! The latency is indeed really high as is the packet loss. The download speed is also low, but a low download speed can be manageable as long as the connection is stable. Can you tell me how you're connected to the internet? WiFi 2.4, 5? Ethernet? Satellite? 5G?
Ethernet
It looks like a 3G connection according to the screenshot. I found some information on it. (You can delete your first screenshot since it has your IP address if you want, thank you!)
No worries
Since the ISP is running over 3G, the Ethernet I'm afraid won't be enough to give you a stable connection. If your ISP offers 5G, you might have a better experience.
Sorry your internet service provider. It looks like it's Hutchison 3G UK Limited: https://bgp.he.net/AS206067
Or maybe this is the provider THEY are using, I'm not sure. Either way, whoever you pay your internet bill to 😅
3G, 4G, and even 5G still share one common problem: They are connections that ping to a cell tower. Having to run through the airwaves, carrying that much data, is going to incur packet loss of some kind and especially latency.
Ultimately, cable, fiber etc is going to be the best experience.

@vast wyvern is there a fix for switching to official version and it not loading at all?

same here and this too
shadow can never catch a break
Check the incident reports for more details, rather than assuming.
Not everyone's issue is tied to the same problem, especially lag. This person is using 3G, it's not recommended for Shadow.
As above, 3G, 4G, and 5G still share one common problem: Airwaves.
But I will agree the incidents on top can make anyone uncertain.
