Please see the following regarding Ready to Go Shadow and Password expiring:

Ready to go password Update

If you used the Ready-To-Go setting when setting up your account, any version prior to Windows 10 1903 has an expired password notice approximately 1-3 months after activation.

Default password and Workaround

If you encounter issues the leave the "\Old password"\ field empty or blank "", you'll be able to specify a new password or you can leave it blank. (Some users have reported Windows now longer lets you leave the password blank)
