#Cannot purchase Vbucks or items that require actual money on Fortnite

I wanted to try buying a pack from Fortnite today, only for Shadow to give me a pop-up saying that it cannot display protected content on Shadow. It is preventing me from buying something and putting in my credentials to buy this. I tried switching from fullscreen to windowed, and that didn't work. Tried restarting my shadow, that also did not work. Is there anything that can be done to address this?

That's HDCP. High bandwidth digital content protection. They're using it on their page to prevent applications from capturing card data via video. Problem being, Shadow has no monitor, so it can't complete the HDCP chain and display the video.

Then what am I supposed to do so I can buy what I want to on the game?

Complain to Epic. HDCP is an Intel abomination that's been around for years. Originally created for anti movie piracy.

Goddamn it Epic

It's also the reason that you can't just watch a streaming service using their respective apps on Shadow. Have to disable hardware acceleration in your browser, or use Firefox, and go to the web version.

I wonder if disabling it in the Registry will do something

Seems like trying to disable it on Nvidia didn't do jack, guess I will give a piece of my mind to Epic

Yeah, there's a workaround.

What is the workaround in question?

rancid briar

In-game, are you using exclusive Fullscreen or borderless ?

heady cairn

Tried using Windowed

Still didn't work

One of those two let the user buy V-bucks.

Tried fullscreen as well

Restart the game after switching.

@heady cairn you made me install Fortnite.

Fullscreen + DirectX 11.

Hm, lemme see

#

Wow. Who would've thought that the issue was the DirectX setting I was using

I guess this is a case closed then @rancid briar
