It will be done before the 26th. Some are being done now, your slot is reserved. So once migration is done you validate and all good for the 26th.

i am so looking forward to this update. I was a while subscribed to geforce now 3080 rtx sub, and then new world looks amazing... but on shadow you have to turn a lot of settings down. So i hope with the upgrade, new world runs much better. And on shadow you can install almost any game you want so thats the reason why i want to switch from geforce now to shadow ' for good'
Thats understandable @gleaming scarab just we do have some waiting feels longer when other people are getting emails 😂 but I'm sure we will get our turn soon . For now just have to sit on our hands ..

I don’t know specifically, just that’s what the emails said. Maybe it’ll appear in the subscription part 🤷🏻♂️ till someone’s has been migrated who has a slot reserved it’s unknown till communicated.

Preorder has been and gone. If you don’t already have a slot reserved you’ll have to wait to see if any available on the 26th, if not then the following restock next month.
I suppose some people might have anxiety, since Shadow has failed with some promises before, which is completely understanding.
But hopefully everything will go smoothly this time around.

how can i cancel power pre order
Ive just received the email saying i can start switching over to the pwoer upgrade. However as usual the information is very limited and using inside terms that blade use. that most of the public dont understand.
To start with, whats actually going to happen? Does this mena i cant use my shadow for a day or 2?
Is the power upgrade still usable on the very old, original shadow box, ive had mine around 5+ years now.
Will a new iteration of the ghost boxes be releasing as i cant afford a pc and my shadow box is as usual, struggling with shadow.
Will my shadow pc reset itself?
Will i lose alot of files and such on the pc?

Just don't finalise the preorder.
You won't lose access to the Shadow.. Only your account webpage.. No there won't be any Shadow streaming hardware unless they partner with someone.. and no it won't reset by itself.

Okay so your preorder slot reservation will be in the other datacentre. You won’t have one for Frankfurt and all slots will be allocated, so I highly doubt Support would give you one.

Active means the account is live, regardless of Sub being active.

They won’t be able to move the preorder cause it’s for a different location. You can contact and they might reserve you a slot for November restock, but I have no idea. Leave the other account live till you know though, but once resolved one way or another you might as well delete the account

Ive been using a shadow account for years, and i was signed for the early pre order on it. But like a few weeks ago i decided to not renew subscription and instead make a new one, with a new login just for getting a location more near Sweden. And it was located in frankfurt

Best you could as for by proof of preorder is to see if they could reserve/give priority for restock

You've always been able to Reset your Shadow via your customer page. It wipes the C Drive and reinstalls windows.

Yeah, this is what I told you before and that's why I did some digging into investigating and on Friday, everyone I asked was from the United States. While, right now, it was Shadow France users getting their emails.
It was probably easier to start with the North American accounts to test things out, to see if they would go smoothly beginning on those and now, upgrade the remaining ones.
Ah I clicked on No when they asked me if I was in USA. It's can explain why I din't get it yet.

Information on that is in the email, they’ll show over the month. If you have referrals and bill comes out without them being deducted, open a ticket with support to get credited/refunded.

No point asking us, if that’s what support says then that’s what will happen. I guess the account needed to be on the new system to be able to accept whatever the link will do. I assumed it’ll be something they activated on the new account gui

Yes all new accounts are on the new system have been for a little while @gleaming scarab but then you don’t get your Power up on that account till slots are available. Like I said, I’m pretty sure they’ll rectify whatever issue there is within the next two weeks, allowing you to finalise before release.
How does that confirm it. If you weren’t a previous hubiC customer you won’t get a code, simple as.

You been had the opportunity to. They sent an email asking if you were interested about a month or so ago. If you didn’t fill it out or said you weren’t interested, then you’ll have to wait til Oct 26th to be able to upgrade your Shadow.

So long story short, i cancelled and resubbed. Paid up an invoice that happened to have the extra storage charged even though i cancelled it prior to it. Guess i was too late. Decided to resub to be on-time for power. However, cant see any way to resub as there is no option on my end to do so. :p Time for the waiting game
So I was migrated to the new website. But I can't currently log into my app. Is there power upgrade early access going live at a certain date or Is my account locked until the 26th?
also If I can't use my regular shadow account is it on hold until the 26th?

As long as your bill is correct and it's correct on the Shadow it'll be fine.. As the email mentioned no one can add or remove storage till fixed. So must be part of that issue.

yeah mine is looking weird. it shows as 256gb + 256gb - in reality i have the 512gb from ultra + 1Tb from legacy (which I have no intention to cancel)

The bill value seems correct, but I see no previous invoices on the new site, and as I said before the storage is wrong (it shows 256+256 when it should show 512+1tb) On the shadow VM itself the storage seems correct, but I've been logged on since this morning (and the transition occured 3 hours ago). At this point I'm even afraid of disconnecting from my VM with fear of losing that extra storage xD

ok. In my case I have a suspicion they aren't showing correctly because I have 1Tb of "legacy storage". This was available right at the beginning it's basically 1Tb for 2.99£ - this is what's missing.

But i was in the preorder list for power upgrade, what can i do to get the power upgrade in my new account? How can i transfer my old accounts power upgrade preorder to this new account?

No because the GPUs being used are the A4000s, which one would imagine were used for testing.. Testing occurred in France.

Well if you've preordered, you will need to finalise the order when it lets you.. So that's how you know.
Ah, I thought so. Shadow could make a UI toggle to make it dark mode on the website.
Don't finalise it, the slot will likely be taken on release day
The people who have been reached out though still have confirmation right? As long as you go through your account. Then select you would like it the preorder will then be activated. Otherwise some slots may open up in the future for others for those no claimed.
And you'll know once it has been released due to different HW on task manager 😄

After the migration the new links I go to now all have eu in the domain name when previously this was not the case due to my region. I am aware shadow is a european company and that as stated in the email we are moved to different servers but I am seeing statements in the discord recently communicating that people are getting things set up in or emails tailored to europe despite being in the United States. Is this something I should potentially contact support over or is everybody here who has gone through the migration having a similar result in the domain name change? Thanks for reading

Bit of a random question: say I preordered Power with the early access, and got a slot, but wanted to wait until the 26th for the full one (slot still reserved according to email?) - would this be possible?

Thankfully I can log in to the support centre I just hope my Shadow PC is available for me as I have videography/photography work to rely on Shadow with. Such as Go Pro Fusion 360' studio.
You shouldn't have any issues connecting to your shadow while the account is migrating

I was logged out completely of the Shadow Client so I need to re-log in using the website however with my account being migrated/down I can't access.
Sometimes Mac OS decides to log out of programs. Probably due to my firewall with Lulu.

Hi everyone. I got my account migrated and I can log-in but I don't see the option to complete the power upgrade anywhere. I mails support and usually I get a response quickly but its two days of radio silence. Does anyone know if this is normal or is something not right with my account?
It's normal, I think you'll still be emailed a unique link to finalise it as per older emails. But accounts need to be on the system to be able to do that.
and as long as that happens within the next 12 days (release in 13), all is good.

Well before it was sso.shadow.tech for all accounts so I guess now the backend server is simply just that url now. As you’ve got en-US at the end that then is the US account part.

Gotcha. That must be really really good to have early access. That way if there’s no NDA they’re able to share how good the latency is and graphics are. Because I am wondering if there will be any latency issues or better latency with the new hardware and I’m curious about the graphics.
Why would latency change? Unless moving datacentre for it (Paris to Dunkirk) for example.

Well, I know this is different but Nvidia GeForce experience was able to do ultra low latency because of their RTX hardware and better CPU and RAM.

That’s input based latency not networking latency. So sure that would be better, and likely better encoding latency. But wouldn’t really be noticeable.

Whether you pay for the days you'll have the Power up till next bill upfront when you finalise it or whether you'll pay those days on the next bill after Oct 26th is unknown.. You'll know when you finalise it..

Nvidia can dynamically distribute gpu among users, especially since not every game fully utilizes the gpu. + that if you bought game for 70 euros you never have assurance that that game may not be removed.
I think they simply meant the fact GFN advertises they utilise Ultra Low latency mode, that's all.

That's really just where you live, sometimes you live closer to shadow dc and vice versa. I used to have 3.5 ms to shadow and 6 ms to Nvidia
Not network latency
It's also very game dependant how effective it is.. But in cloud gaming, when you have network latency to contend with.. It's minimal.
Is all to do with render latency which ultimately affects input latency @gleaming tide .. Granted render latency + encoding latency should be improved with the Ampere cards regardless.
Anyone else feel a bit bummed by the fact that as soon as we get an RTX card on Shadow (for those who do), they bring out new features only for the next generation 😢

Well.. The fact is the only Workstation Ada Lovelace GPU announced is the "RTX 6000" annoyingly named the same as the Turing RTX 6000.
When you consider the RTX A6000 is currently 5000.. Even with bulk discounts, the new RTX 6000 would be more than the A6000... It wouldn't be viable at this time.. Especially not for 44.98 p/m and in the numbers they'd need.
In my PC I have an Arc A380 (cheap thing at £149) AV1 is great, current state of HW Accelerated playback is not 😄
Also the RTX A4500 is only 10-11 months old.. I imagine the ones to replace this tier won't be released for another 12-18 months anyways.

Is really just how much you have for it, you can just rtx 6000 game at shadow but then you have to business a 200 per month

I get that. But it’s all about relevant cost to be profitable. If 200 odd is so the Turing 6000 is profitable. The Ada 6000 would be quite a lot more. The Turing one is around 2000-3000, the Ampere a6000 around 5000. The Ada 6000 would likely be 6000-7000+
Maybe in 12-18 months business might have more spec packages. Who knows.
Anyways back to Power specifically. You’d imagine the “4070 class” Ada workstation cards, which would replace the A4000/A4500. Would be what shadow replace with in 2-3 years.
I can tell you that if shadow had given last years cpu times extra upgrade, people weren't complaining so much about boost now, I hope they take that into account in new config, especially with cpu and ram

I believe I did, I have the email saying I'll receive a email before the 26th. That's why I asked cause the migration was supposed to be done between Friday and Tuesday. But didn't start till yesterday and is still ongoing. I guess I'll wait and see when people get their emails today and then contact support if no update.

you are relevant cost to be profit giving, but the problems you run into with current config is barely upgrading, I hope with new config they improve that point

Thats' the whole point in the Power add-on ..
ultra and infinite were meant to be that... But you know what happened.. everything needed to be reset... So this Power add-on is the start of the upgrading cycle of 2-3 years.

So the plan going forward is that in 2-3 years Base Shadow will likely get Power spec and power spec newer.
And who knows.. By then we could have more bespoke add-ons.

I mean I know there's some different CPUs floating about.. But in general.. No Base Shadow won;t change as a whole for those 2-3 years.. It's not viable, you need to change more than just the CPU.

New account UI is weird i will say that. I just noticed even my phone number was listed in french 🤨 had to change that... lol than also had to put my name in too sense it was blank. lol.. Than i sent a 2nd ticket cause i wasn't getting any more replys from my old one .. And that came back in french and it even made a ticket in the french support site 🤨

I found it a little hard to find with the mobile ui. With it being under manage subscription. Rather than a separate page.

No they said those who had those preorders and didn't get got priority to the early access, there's still only 500 slots.. Those went quickly, that 500 would cover a very small % of those with the priority

That's not how it's done.
Basically, those who registered interest way back when in May onwards.. Were then emailed 20th-23rd September.. Those who filled in the form in September, then if in priority bracket received email about offering Early Access or keep full release spot for 26th.. IF there were any slots left after those Priority it would then go on a first come first serve to others in Europe who had a slot reserved for release.. All 500 slots went before general pre-orders were contacted.
So therefore the codes going out, are those that accepted the early access late last month.
And it's not Infinite and Ultra users, but those that preordered it back in 2019 and never got it.
I pre ordered Infinite and never got it. No code yet.
There was only enough HW for around 10% of preorders. Granted some of those left over time opening up slots for those still waiting.. But you can imagine, even taking into account people leaving Shadow completely. The number of people left on Base Shadow with the preorder outstanding would be a lot more than 500

Shadow Infinite was a very old subscription that has been discontinued did you actually get it when it was still a thing?
I didn’t get it but just before Shadow was taken over there was a pre order form but never got it. But with the new owners probably didn’t take this into account. And was just the original back when it was available.
I think I deleted the emails, it was around last year from what I remember.

That’s account migration. Early access you would have received an email on the 22nd or 23rd last month with a button saying Accept early access.
That’s confusing because they mentioned pre-order and stuff so I just assumed that meant I’d get early access

Early access was given priority to those who preordered Ultra and Infinite in 2019 and never received, even then it’s only 500 slots and a slightly lower end GPU. A4000 vs A4500. Anyways, if you have preorder slot reserved for release it’s only 12 days away

Well 21st or 22nd then I guess but no. There’s no Accept Early access button that’s preorder. This is why yours is November I guess if you only got that on the 23rd. People got that on the 20th
If you’ve got Preorder slot reserved for the release or priority slot for November restock. Your account will be migrated over to the new system, ready to finalise the order before release.

And i never had this problem or issue sense 2018. and it now just became a problem?????? I mean i shared my code back than as everyone does 🤣

i didint do that i shared it like anyone else would . i mean as i told them too let alone how is it under my control if someone else uses my code than share it too everywhere??? that's not my problem and i shouldn't be abused over it.. let alone it ony became a thing now after all these years? i mean i kept in contact with the team too with it and they always told me keep up the good work what i was doing.

Well it says that credits from deactivated ref codes won't be guarenteed to transfer over.
It's been deactivated for over 2 years, surely you would have noticed no more being added onto the total 😛

That'll take forever, best thing to do would be upload to cloud storage, only really would need game saves that aren't in cloud.. Any important things should be backed up regular anyways 🙂
It’s all app, car and track mods, stuff for sim racing, settings for VR that took me ages to work out, all sorts. I think if I had to start again from scratch, I dunno what I’d do. I better look into it then fast!
