FOR MAC USERS check privacy settings to allow Shadow to use the mic.

EVERYONE
(On Shadow)
Feedback bar will be at 50%, no matter what. This is normal.

  1. Enable your mic via Quick Menu (Microphone section, not USB Peripherals)
  2. Right click the speaker icon in your taskbar > press "Sounds"
  3. Switch to the tab "Recording", right click Shadows Virtual mic (External Microphone Headphone), click "Properties"
  4. Switch to the tab "Levels" and make sure that the icon isn't red (muted)
  5. Switch to the tab "Listen" (tick "Listen to this device" and apply)
  6. Depending on result:
    a. If you hear yourself, untick the box and apply settings. Your mic works now.
    b. If you hear nothing, restart your Shadow.
  7. If it still doesn't work contact support.

-- If you have a USB Microphone/Headset you can alternatively use USB Forwarding and DISABLE the "Microphone" function. USB Forwarding should only be used with a stable internet connection and a good upload speed. Your ping/latency to shadow should stay below 32ms for it to work without issues.

Today, many team driven games almost require voice communication to be successful. This guide will help you to get your microphone working in Shadow.
