Well, after a little too much confidence with "yeah, that'll be fine, I can go to bed," I have doomed my formbot kit toolhead. Cleaned the blob off, but the damage remains, and I'm inclined to just replace the toolhead for all the frustrations I had with it.
My priorities:
-Low maintenance OR easy to open (digging into the toolhead was torture and probably strained my CAN setup)
-Reliability for PLA, PETG, and TPU (generally just 95A)
-As little spaghetti wiring as possible. Umbilical is fine, but I'd rather avoid drag chains. I CAN solder, but I'd rather not.
How does this setup look? Is there anything else I should look into?
XOL
Gallileo 2 (for a Trident, but extruder models seem sold out everywhere)
Rapido (model recommendations?)
EBB2209 (this board is likely at least partially fried - if there's a better option that doesn't involve drag chains I'm all ears)
TAP (already have, seems salvageable but willing to shift if there's a better option)
