#Missing Z bearing block clamp – temporary workaround question

Hey everyone 👋
I’m currently building a Voron 2.4 and realized I’m missing one small printed part: the Z bearing block upper clamp (the small cube that clamps the Z belt, right side of the picture).

I don’t have a printer available at the moment — mine unfortunately broke down earlier today.

Question:
Is it acceptable to temporarily use shorter screws without the clamp, assemble the printer, and then print this part as the very first print on the Voron once it’s up?

Thanks a lot 🙏

I think anything that holds the belt in place and puts the z bearing block in roughly the right spot will work. It might work with just the bearing block, or maybe some random bit of carved up plastic or wood or something.

Though I wouldn't tighten the Z belts too much.

we should run a competition to see who can replace the most parts with cardboard and still have it work.
