My Formbot kit has 695RS flange bearings, but instructions call for 625 regular bearings. Is this a substitution or have I just missed the 625s? If the flange ones are right, which side does the flange go on? Thanks. (pg 33, Belt Drive Assembly)

There should be both kinds of bearings in the kit. The flange bearings are used in other places (all along the A/B belt path, in motor drive assemblies, X/Y joints and idlers), but the ones in the Z drives need to be plain 625 bearings to fit properly.
The BOM says there should be 20x 695 flanged bearings and 12x 625 "plain" ones. It's not just the flange, they also have different dimensions (the 625 is a little bit bigger).
