Hi,
This is my first build, so please tell me if I make/made mistakes and should correct them.

After getting a Ender 5S1 + their SonicPad as my first printer ± 2 yrs ago I had nothing but problems and actually needed to mod that thing In order to make it print straight. Sooooo I decided to get a decent Printer instead.
It may seem weird to some, but I totally overestimated the free time you'd have as a fresh dad to tackle projects like building a Voron while at the same time moving to a different place. 🤦‍♂️
So a few weeks ago I started hiding in the basement again to finish my '23 Christmas present (to myself).

I got a TAPed "Full Metal" version of the 2.4 with Metal Z-Motor mounts, z-joints and all the Gantry parts made of Metal.

The Packaging was REALLY nice I have to say! Also I love the big screw-box that came with the Kit.

EDIT: 🎸 Guitar for Scale - doesn't come with the package 😦

Next Part: The Frame

So for anyone reading this, who didn't build a Voron yet: GET A GRANITE/STONE PLATE because likely none of your surfaces is really flat 🤦‍♂️

So i did that squaring thing on my neat little rest of a kitchen countertop I got for free. After I've tried to get the darn thing built at my in-laws. Don't wanna repeat it. Ever.
Every screw got secured in place with the loctite stuff from liqui moli (dont recall the name).

A closeup of the beefy Z-Motors and a Mr. Tom for scale of the buildplate.

Some (as I now know) not-so-sqaure gantry pics and hanging it to the z-idlers.
And also I finished the Stealthburner without documentation :/

So I finished assembly for the first time. After running some calibrations and test prints somehow my Y dimensions were off quite a lot and I also didn't like the results of input shaper ( which I lost).

Turns out my B-Belt was routed the wrong way - instead of going via the pulley ( motor pic left side) it was scratching over the metal part. 😭 You can even see where it rubbed itself against the aluminium 😕

#

Still not happy with the input shaper results.
I can't get the Belt tension equal. Also they are not the same Length.
Did I not cut them equally a year a go when I routed them, or did the elongate thanks to the rubbing? 🤔

And I', not sure, but I seem to have some Racking on Y (the 25 Hz stuff?)

So I ordered new Belts
and a Cartographer Probe 😊
and it's CNC mount 😊
(AFAIK that's called shopping therapy)
TAP is just sooooo slow 😴

#

So now that I'm re-belting I figured I could as well de-rack my Gantry.
Did that.
Now I'm running Belts.

Hey! Once you get everything up and running then make sure to get some print hours on it before worring about IS-results.

Belts will strech a bit so best to just let te machine settle and worry about that later and enjoy the machine and build.
