Back in early March, I learned about the Voron ecosystem after I came across a video on Reddit showcasing the 247zero. And I was hooked on the idea of a small ABS-printing machine that is quite affordable. So here we go.

Ordered on Taobao during a sale, sea shipping to Malaysia took a bit more than 2 weeks. The package arrived on Monday (24th) but I totally forgot that I need a soldering iron stand to safely park the tool which became an excuse for procrastination.

Let me know how the build goes and if you have any complications because I have a kit in the way @rancid totem

Just be careful which nut carriers you print.

vagrant egret
#

@crimson aurora do you have a stl for the correct ones?

@vagrant egret I suggest you start your own build log so we can answer questions there, instead of hijacking Raidens build log

Thank you

Frame done. Gave up trying to perfectly square the frame: worst case I'll just go get the Fysetc frame alignment tool.

Next step will be preparing all the heat set inserts. Progress is slow being a weekend shift warrior...

Z lead screw done. X axis next...

X axis done. Belts next...

Assembled the top hat first... ran out of m3 nuts halfway and had to get more from a nearby hardware store. Preloaded too many... Now gotta figure out how to do the belts.

😂 don goofed and inserted the hot bed extension wire crimp terminals into the connector before passing it through the drag chain... welp, snipped the connector off, ordered crimp tool (probably takes a week to ship, and I don't think I'll reach wiring phase before it arrives), and gotta redo it.

If you turned it on were you fans working? @rancid totem

The led on the kirigami bed?

rancid totem
#

yeah

vagrant egret
#

I believe it was precrimped but you had to put the connector on

rancid totem
#

i wonder if i should just skip the LEDs as i'm not a fan of fancy RGB stuff

vagrant egret
#

I didn’t do the led for the toolhead as I forgot and didn’t want to solder of crimp anything

rancid totem
#

anyways yeah, need that crimp tool to do the wiring (and i haven't even installed the belt because procrastination + being weekend shift warrior with mid-week breaks). not a big setback, need the tool for the next project (self source 2.4) anyways...

The build was fun and took me over 10 hours but I’m still yet to get my first print due to firmware issues and the fans not working.

Good luck
