After completing my V2.4 Big Bertha, I figured lets make its smaller cousin, Mini Maggie. This Micron will be a 180mm variant Most of the parts are printed on my X1C while I leave Bertha to printing my larger projects.

As of right now, I have the main frame and gantry parts printed. I have to wait for a new frame kit as the AliExpress one I purchased ended up being for a 120mm size (foreshadowing another Micron maybe....). The plan is to keep it fairly close to BOM with only a few small mods off the gate. i.e. lightweight gantry, beefy front and z idlers, dragon burner (probably) and maybe some others.

Here are the parts being printed in Cookiecad Dark Magic ABS and Polymaker Purple ABS. The Cookiecad filament prints very well, I also have a set of Saladfork parts in one of their other color ABS for the future.

Here’s a closer look at the Dark Magic ABS, it has a dark teal and purple hue to it based on the lighting. Very “the dress is blue/black” vibe.

I also assembled the Z idlers and front idlers.

Pictured here are the LDO motor kit, lightweight x rail, LDO panel kit, 120mm micron frame (womp womp) and the surprisingly thorough West3D fastener kit for micron.

Made a handful of progress finally. Put the frame together, loaded the way too many M3 nuts in the extrusions, added the linear rails and then sized it up inside of my 2.4. I'm doing the BFI and BZI from the start and i think the color combo looks pretty good! I just got to order the rest of the pulleys and belts to be able to put the Z-drives together.

Have you seen the R1 revisions for Micron? It integrates BZI/BFI and some other nice things. Worth a look if you downloaded your stls a while ago or hadn't seen r1 is stock yet
