#Better Quality Motors?

I use Stepper Online NEMA 17 17HS19-2004S1 for A B and Z with Octopus Pro and 2209 drivers.
I also use the TMCAutoTune Script.
Are there any upgrades to the drivers and motors that I could perform to upgrade quality/stability?

Things that I have issues with right now are:

  • QGL takes several retries (i want to get new belts for z and I've upgraded my Z idlers to the ones less likely to crack). I've upgraded to cartographer and I probe a lot less and have less retries, but I'm worried this only puts a band-aid on that issue.
  • inconsistency in layers (shifting) when I reach higher points, I've just replaced my AB belts, got CNC joints for the gantry and switched to umbilical to get rid of some weight. Going to get some titanium (or maybe steel) backers to deal with thermal flex

I know I should be printing at 45-degree angles to relieve stress on my AB motors. I haven't done it yet because my lack of understanding of it makes me stubborn to try it.. Not sure if I'll do it correctly. Any documentation I've read on it seemed to be minimal.

I use a bunch of StepperOnline Motors (not sure if that exact model, I think it is) in one of my machines and there seems to be absolutely nothing wrong with them. LDO Motors are probably regarded as the "best ones", but I don't know if there is much real-world difference in how they perform.

What quality/stability issues are you referring to? I don't know what that would be that would be caused directly by the motors.

Same thing with the stepper drivers, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a TMC2209. Most "upgrades" are drivers which can do higher input voltages and motor currents for really high speeds.

I am interested in more speed, although, I'm more concerned with quality of prints at the moment.
