What happens prior to the error? Does the toolhead move part way? Which motors do you have? Are the 1.8° or 0.9°?

rugged kayak
#

No it doesn’t move at all, only the z is running which are still on the default configuration with tmc2209

#

My motors are 1.8

Could you post a klippy log? I'm curious if there are some other errors in there.

# rugged kayak Here it is

Weird. There is nothing else. When you hit home then, the toolhead moves up in Z right? Then does the error pop up immediately or after some time? say 5 or 10 seconds.

rugged kayak
#

Yes after 5-10 sec

merry charm
#

Silly question but is there any chance the motors are actually turning but the pulleys are not? Ie loose grub screws?

I will tag you when I come back home, thank you very much for the help

Sounds great. If I am not around when you're back feel free to open a ticket in #request_help . They might find this one interesting.

Hi @merry charm

#

What’s up?

rugged kayak
#

@merry charm I rewired everything to the driver itself

#

Not I got the signal and current running through the motor

#

The thing is that the driver is holding the motor after homing faild

I changed to tmc 5160 pro from Mellow, and after finalizing the wiring I got a weird issue which is the motors dont move while trying to home

#

And then when homing faild the motors get current running in it and going to hold

#

And the head is not movable by hand anymore

For what do you need moderator assistance?

Hmmm. Just about to go to sleep. Why are you pinging Mods?

severe moat

Moderators are for when people are misbehaving. I’m about to go through airport security 🙂

rugged kayak

Ohhh sorry sorry, I just saw Thor was a moderator and tagged you

Like Thor suggested, opening a help ticket is your best bet.

read thor's message about #request_help

severe moat

Lots of round the clock volunteer help there.

rugged kayak
#

Yeah I was about to do so

Thor is probably doing that thing people do when they want to get paid. He'll be here when he can, otherwise, help ticket is a solid choice

[Solution]

The Mellow Fly TMC 5160 Pro needs to have dedicated VCC GND connected to it, and also the A1A2B1B2 wires should be also connected to the board terminal, it doesn’t send the signal through the onboard terminals

This was not mentioned in the docs
