you may still have to setup your specific neopixel chain iirc. looks like the klippain default also sets the lights to 0 by default, so you can try changing that to another color (like 1.0 for blue and red so you know it's working)

and you set your MCU board as the right MCU? (octopus or octopus pro? the two have different LED pins, and some others). and everything else works?

If you're getting 5v at the toolhead, it's at least not the 5v line, but checking the data line will require an oscilloscope or something
