#Motor knocking on startup

New build. I just installed a new CNC tap (2.4r2). Got most of it configured in Klipper and mainsail. Still building is haven't done an initial print but did turn in on before I swapped the old tap setup I had with the CNC. Not sure what is going on, but now the motors are knocking when I turn the thing on. It wasn't doing this before I took the head apart. The sound goes away when I unplug the motors from the Spider v2.2. What did I do? Did I fry the drivers (2209)?

Think this video upload will work better. Sorry, new to discord.

What motor is knocking? Seems like MCU issue.

Sounds like most of them. The sound is less when I only turn on the printer with one plugged in. I think the only one that doesn't make noise is the extruder. Do I need a new board?

No I doubt it. Might be something up with the firmware on it.

I'll try a reflash tomorrow

Well, tried to reflash and cannot find the DFU. I also cannot get it to flash via microSD. It's not communicating with the pi anymore.

Oof that's unfortunate, so MCU is likely dead.

#

Check that your wiring is good though and that it's getting power.

lights come on.

nothing from my usb

I'm not really like fystec right now.....

#

usb to computer wouldn't connect either.

Ok all signs are pointing to it being dead. If your wiring is good and you didn't accidentally short it out, try to get it warrantied. Otherwise they aren't that expensive to replace.

honestly I probably shorted it. Might have put a jumper in the wrong spot.

#

know anything about the BTT M8P?

No I got an octopus. I'm really worried about shorting it too. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

So I finally got an Octopus Pro. Looks like it make a lot more sense to me. Ran into a problem with the Mantas in that it really won't work with an external raspberry pi...
